This marks the second Disney series to have a Rottweiler character named Roxy, the first being 101 Dalmatian Street with their Roxy.
Several episodes were released on Disney+ before their proper airing.
This shares similarities with Rubble and Crew, a spin-off of Paw Patrol that airs on Nick Jr.. Apparently, people have been comparing it as a "rip-off" when it started production before Rubble and Crew was rushed into production to make Pupstruction look like the rip-off.

  - Both feature animals as construction crew. (Pupstruction Crew, Rubble and Crew)
  - Both feature a speed-obsessed rival construction company as the main antagonists. (Lickety Split, Speed Meister)
  - Town lacks a lot of buildings but thanks to the crew it will be done.
  - Have a related family to work side by side with. (Phinny: Mother, Rubble: All)
  - Mayor has a purple motif.
  - Mayor has an assistant. (Hamster, Duck)
- Differences are:
  - Pupstruction is an original, Rubble and Crew is a spin-off.
  - Features humans interacting with animals.
  - Pupstruction features musical artists.
